WatchGameFilm Partners with the Independent Football Alliance
We have some exciting news to share: WatchGameFilm is officially partnering with the Independent Football Alliance (IFA)—America's collective representing independent youth football leagues nationwide.
This is a partnership that has been a long time coming, and one that is deeply personal for us.
What Is the Independent Football Alliance?
The IFA launched in January 2026 with a mission that resonates with everything we believe in here at WatchGameFilm: independent youth football leagues are the backbone of the sport in America, and they deserve better resources, better representation, and better technology.
With 3.5 million athletes across 20+ countries, independent youth football leagues represent the largest population of youth football participants in America—yet for years, they operated without a collective voice, without access to major sponsors, and without the infrastructure that "national" leagues take for granted. The IFA is changing that.
The IFA provides its member leagues with:
- Zero-cost membership — no dues, no fees, no strings attached
- National representation with the NFL, major sports brands, and corporate sponsors
- Championship events at premier venues like Hall of Fame Village in Canton, Ohio and The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas—the Dallas Cowboys' own facility
- Cost reduction programs through collective bargaining on equipment, insurance, and services
- Networking across 50+ independent leagues to share best practices and operational expertise
And now, WatchGameFilm as the official film platform for IFA member leagues.
Why This Partnership Matters
WatchGameFilm was built by people who grew up in independent football. Our co-founder Joe Kirsch is also a co-founder of the IFA—so the connection between these two organizations isn't just a business deal. It's a shared belief that independent youth football coaches and athletes deserve the same tools the biggest programs in the country use.
For years we have watched independent league coaches make do without quality film review. Coordinators adjusting at halftime without the ability to pull up a clip. Parents recording shaky sideline video on their phones. Athletes missing recruiting exposure because there was no organized film. That ends now.
Every IFA member league gains access to WatchGameFilm's full platform—including:
- AI-powered SNAP markers that automatically tag every play as it streams
- ODK markers to instantly categorize Offense, Defense, and Kicking
- Sideline Replay so coaches can review plays live on the sideline during games
- Film Exchange to share and receive film with opponents and scouts
- Coach Assistant, our AI-powered coaching tool for post-game breakdowns
- Unlimited users so every player, coach, and coordinator on your roster has access
This is not watered-down technology. This is the same platform used by programs at every level—now brought to the independent leagues that need it most.
Championship Football at the Biggest Stages
One of the most exciting developments for IFA member leagues is access to premier championship events that were simply out of reach before.
The IFA Youth Football Jamboree at Hall of Fame Village in Canton, Ohio will bring together top teams from member leagues for a weekend of championship competition, skills showcases, and a once-in-a-lifetime experience adjacent to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. For young athletes, there is no more fitting backdrop to play their best football.
Then in December, the IFA Super Bowl at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas caps the season in the most memorable way imaginable—competing under the same roof where the Dallas Cowboys prepare for their season. The Ford Center's massive HD video board, NFL-quality turf, and 12,000-seat capacity create a game-day experience these athletes will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
With WatchGameFilm integrated into both championship events, every game, every play, and every highlight moment will be captured, organized, and ready for review—for coaches analyzing performance and for athletes building recruiting profiles.
The Chicagoland Youth Football League Sets the Standard
The IFA's momentum was on full display when The Chicagoland Youth Football League (TCYFL)—the largest independent youth tackle football league in America—joined as a founding member in April 2026.
TCYFL fields thousands of players across hundreds of teams from 50+ member communities throughout Chicagoland and southeastern Wisconsin. When the largest independent league in the country signals that a collective approach is valuable, the rest of the country takes notice.
"For more than 50 years, the Independent Youth Football Leagues of America have been the single biggest force in youth football," said TCYFL President Geoff Meyer. "I am excited to join the Alliance to help grow the game with the Independent Leagues across America."
TCYFL has been a WatchGameFilm customer for many years, and we are proud to see that long-standing relationship now extended to the full IFA network.
Independent Leagues Belong on the Biggest Stages
What the IFA has built in just a few months is remarkable. A free membership model. Hall of Fame Village. The Ford Center at The Star. America's largest independent league as a founding member. A national platform backed by 20+ years of partnership experience from the U.S. Army Bowl.
The message is clear: independent leagues are not a lesser tier of football. They are the foundation of the sport—and they deserve first-class tools and first-class stages.
WatchGameFilm is proud to be a part of that mission. If your league is not yet a member of the IFA, we encourage you to visit independent.football and learn more. Membership is completely free, and the benefits are real.
Let's build something great.
